Concessionary Bus Pass

An anomaly has been identified regarding the ability to use of concessionary bus passes on services from Longney or Epney.

Normally such bus concessionary passes can only be used on services after 09:30 on weekdays and at any time on weekends.  However, the Gloucestershire County Council website lists certain bus routes and  services for which there is an exemption to the 09:30 time limit.

Unfortunately, the only regular bus service from Epney or Longney is prior to 09:30 but the service did not feature on the exemption list!

Ian Pears of Longney has challenged Gloucestershire County Council on this and has managed to get their agreement for the concessionary bus passes to be valid on the first Stagecoach 66F service from Frampton-On-Severn.  It would be worth passing this information on to your family and friends who live in other Severnside villages through which this bus service also passes.  Well done Ian!

Just a reminder you are normally entitled to a concessionary bus pass once you have reached the female state pensionable age for your date of birth, irrespective whether you are male or female.  There are other factors which might entitle individuals to receive concessionary bus passes at an earlier age, which are listed on the Free Concessionary Bus Passes page on the Gloucestershire County Council Website.
